Il senso delle nuvole at Bookcity

Next Saturday (Oct 24) I will be hosting a roundtable at Laboratorio Formentini per l’Editoria – a brand new meeting place for those who work in the publishing industry – in Milan. This event, which has been called “Il senso delle nuvole” and will be dedicated to the topic of comics in translation, is part of the Publishing Industry section of the much wider and now well-known Bookcity festival. Among our speakers, editors Francesca Martucci and Elisabetta Sedda, translator/editor/essayist Andrea Plazzi – who is also famous for his greatly important collaboration  with Rat-Man‘s author Leo Ortolani – and most of all top Italian comics artists Paolo Bacilieri and Sergio Ponchione. We will talk about what happens and what you do when works coming from such a complex and multi-layered medium as comics are translated from a foreign language and culture into Italian, and vice versa.
